Student Tweetback
You may have noticed a few weeks ago I added my Twitter feed to the sidebar at the right. I started using Twitter during the iPhone conference in Abilene back in February as a way to experience the backchannel conversation at that conference. I’ve kept using Twitter since then, and I find it a fun and useful way to share ideas. I mostly stick to educational technology topics, especially classroom response systems. You can see my recent “tweets” here.
There are several ways to make good use of Twitter. One of those ways is to search for interesting topics. For instance, you can search Twitter on the word “clickers” to see what people are saying about clickers. (Ignore the tweets about the clickers used to train dogs as well as the tweets referring to people who click links on Web pages as clickers…) I’ve picked up some interesting links and made some useful connections by checking that search regularly.
Every now and then while searching on “clickers,” I’ll see a tweet by someone who is clearly a student in a class that uses clickers. Since I’ve posted here in the past about research on student reactions to using clickers, I thought I would share a few recent tweets from students. This is a distinctly non-scientific survey…

One more thing: Here’s a great five-minute video about history professor Monica Franklin’s use of Twitter in the classroom at the University of Texas-Dallas. Those of you interested in educational uses of backchannel might want to check it out.
