I’ve tallied the results of today’s voting, and I’m pleased to announce the winning infographics in each of the three categories.
- Most Interesting Application – The winner is “Is Rand Stealing Our Lunch Money?” by Curtis Northcutt, Peter York, and Hayden Kelly with 12 votes. Honorable mention (but no points) goes to “How Much Does a Calorie Cost?” by Ben Draffin and Abdul Kamaruaman (9 votes) and to “Political Party and Preference for Violent Sports” by Lauren Arpin and Chris Butsch (8 votes).
- Most Attractive Infographic – The winner is “Body Dimensions of Active Young Adults” by Irene Hukkelhoven, Zachary Sanicola, and Natalie Thoni with 9 votes. Honorable mention goes to “Do Baseball Salaries Influence Payoff Berths?” by Adair Cummings, Jon Getz, and Teddy Weaver (7 votes) and to “SAT Scores by State” by Peter McNally, Daniel Dudugjian, and William O’Keefe (6 votes).
- Best Data Visualization – This was a hotly contested category! In fact, we have a three-way tie for first place! All three projects will receive the bonus points. The winners are, with 9 votes each, “The Cost of Living” by Nathan Hall, Siana Aspy, and Tim Altmansberger, “Do Baseball Salaries Influence Payoff Berths?” by Adair Cummings, Jon Getz, and Teddy Weaver, and “Body Dimensions of Active Young Adults” by Irene Hukkelhoven, Zachary Sanicola, and Natalie Thoni.
That means two wins for Hukkelhoven, Sanicola, and Thoni, and a win and an honorable mention for Cummings, Getz, and Weaver. Congrats to all of the finalists!
